Lewisburg

William “Bill” A. Bostic

79, of Lewisburg, transitioned to Heaven, Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

He was born December 1, 1945, in Dickerson County, Virginia, to the late Alex and Laura Alice (Duty) Bostic.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sherri Bostic; daughter, Amber (Seth) Staker; son, Tony (Lori) Bostic; grandchildren, Gabe and Ellie Staker and Elijah Bostic; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Known for his generous heart and love of the outdoors, Bill touched the lives of many through his kindness and passion for life.

An avid outdoorsman, Bill found joy in fishing for anything that swam and was good to eat, as well as hunting mushrooms in Michigan and Virginia. He was also a master vegetable gardener who delighted in sharing the fruits of his labor with others, often giving away fresh produce and homemade salsa to friends and neighbors. His culinary talents were equally cherished, especially his famous cat head biscuits and gravy and perfectly fried fish.

Bill retired from General Motors after a fulfilling career and spoke fondly of his time at work and wished he could return. In retirement, he embraced the simple pleasures of life, including spending cherished moments with his grandbabies, who brought him immense joy.

A man of deep faith, Bill served as the head deacon at First Brethren Church of West Alexandria and later became an active member of Community Harvest Church in Germantown. His commitment to his faith and community was evident in all he did.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 30 from 12PM to 2PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria.  The funeral service will begin at 2PM with Pastor Duane Harney officiating.  Interment  will be at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
