William "Bill" E. Hendricks

William " Bill" Hendricks, age 86 of Eaton , Ohio went home to be with the Lord Sunday evening March 8, 2015 at Reid Hospital, Richmond Indiana. Born in Dugger, Indiana on August 5, 1928, he was a son to the late Grover and Louise (Butler) Hendricks. Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy, and early in life worked for the Railroad which he retired from , followed by Krogers in Eaton, and went on to work various jobs including the Village Laundromat in Eaton. He was a simple man and enjoyed farming, gardening, loved his dogs and was a very giving man. He will be truly missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Grover Hendricks, Jr and Norman " Henry" Hendricks: and sister Betty Hendricks - Taylor. Survived by his loving companion of 16 years Opal "Opie" Powers : children Linda Sawyer of South Bend, IN; Marcie & Charles Nicholson of Lynn, IN; Michael & Lee Hendricks of New Carlisle, IN; and William Hendricks Jr formerly of Indiana; Linda & David Thomas of Urbana, OH; Gail & Gary Mercer of Eaton ; Karen & Glenn Stubbs of Zoar, OH: as well as 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation and Services will be private per the families request. Arrangements entrusted to The Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center, West Alexandria. Burial Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
