William R. "Bill" Evans

William R. "Bill" Evans, III, age 59 of Richmond, IN and formerly of Preble County, OH, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 12, 2015 at his home. Born June 22, 1955, he was the son of William R., Jr. and Helen G. (Perry) Evans. Bill was an Eagle Scout, member of the Order of the Arrow and earned the God and Country Award. He was a 1974 graduate of Eaton High School, worked in the Construction Trades and for the Millwright and Iron Workers Unions. He was a Kentucky Colonel; member and former officer of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Richmond; and member of the Ancient Order of Druids where he was serving as the Noble Arch for the second time. Bill enjoyed a number of various activities including scuba diving, photography, rock climbing, snow skiing, canoeing, camping, fly tying and fly fishing, and hunting. Bill was preceded in death by his father William R. Evans, Jr. on July 7, 2005. He is survived by his mother Helen G. Evans of Richmond: sister Annette Grassa of Richmond: the love of his life Emma Turpin of Richmond: nieces Heather Planalp and her children Morgan, Madelyn and Peyton of Noblesville, IN; Tiffani Neises and her children Sebastian, Eliot and Olivia of Kettering, OH; and Stephanie Gallimore and her children Kayli, Kaleb and Emma of New Paris, OH: a host of cousins and numerous friends. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 pm Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH.
