Virgil Petry,

Virgil Petry, Jr., age 80, of New Paris, OH, passed away Sunday evening August 28, 2011 following an extended illness. Born in Preble County, he was a son of the late Charles Virgil, Sr. And Kathryn (Miller) Petry. Mr. Petry was a dairy farmer in Jefferson Township for most of his life. Member of Miami Valley Milk Producers and the Preble County Farm Bureau. He also formerly worked as a bus driver and was a former Board Member for the C.R. Coblentz Board of Education; and was a member of the Jefferson Twp. Booster Club. A member of the Wayne County Bowlers Assn., he participated in League Bowling in Richmond for many years. Survived by son & daughter-in-law J. Dean & Ruth Ann Petry of Eaton, OH: daughter & son-in-law Denise & Kenneth Rodefer of West Manchester, OH: grandchildren Jennifer Petry, Janelle Stevenson, Jackie Otherson, Andy, Tim and Mike Rodefer; 5 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren: brother & sister-in-law Gaynor & Barbara Petry of New Paris: nieces and nephews. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH.
