Sylvester James Zimmers

Sylvester James Zimmers, 82, a resident of New Lebanon, OH and former resident of Dayton, OH, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2020. Born June 5, 1937 in Hamilton, OH, he was the eldest of 4 children born to the late Robert and Lois (Camack) Zimmers. He retired after 20+ years as a Binder for McCalls (Dayton Press) in Dayton.A member of the Democrat Club, AmVets Post 33 of Dayton, he was a fan of the Bengals, the Reds and UD Flyer Basketball. His greatest joy was his family and he enjoyed his family's annual family reunions. Survived by daughter Kelly Zimmers; grandchildren Kristen (Matt) Lux and Ashley Zimmers; great grandchildren Katelyn, Evelyn, Zander, Addie, Noah, Connor and Maverick; brother and sisters Don Zimmer, Harriet Anderson and Beverly Bowling; special friend Brian (Sue) Cronenwett; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held in June with details being announced here when available. Arrangements entrusted to the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center.
