Shirley A. Collins

Shirley A. Collins, 66, of West Alexandria, passed away suddenly July 12, 2016. Shirley was a daughter of the late Russell & Margaret (Garber) Lesh. She attended Lanier School, was a member of Community Christian Church in West Alexandria and had retired from the Inland Division of General Motors after 20+ years of service at both the Dayton and Vandalia Plants. Her greatest joy was her family and she enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, Quarter auctions, bingo and other various activities. Also a member of the American Legion Post #762 Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by son Greg Collins and sister Phyllis "Jeanie" Johnson. Survived by husband of 38 years Robert Lee Collins, whom she married October 1, 1977: children Garry W. (Jennifer) Murray, Jr. and Angie (Jim) Morgan: grandchildren Melany (Luke) Madigan, Tara (Chad Simon) Hollinger, Heather, Justin and Logan Collins: great grandchildren Alexis and Sean Madigan, Kailee Hollinger, Kaitlynn, Destiny and Landen Simon, Ryan Collins: siblings David (Sharon) Lesh, Robert (Shelley) Lesh and Patricia Lesh: numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Friends may call on the family from 1:00 - 3:00 PM Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Gary Wood presiding. Shirley enjoyed lunches and activities at the Preble County Senior Center.
