Samuel DAVID Ramsey

age 72 of Camden, formerly of Drexel, passed away Saturday November 4, 2023, after a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eunice Ramsey; son, David Ramsey; brother, Jeffrey Ramsey; and great grandson, Zachariah Ramsey Jr.

David is survived by his brother, Kenneth Ramsey and his wife Dorothy; his daughters, Shannon Ramsey, Sammie Jo Ramsey, Shonda Martin(step daughter), and Angela Stapleton (daughter in law); grandchildren, Zachariah Ramsey and his wife Cortney, Riley, Olivia, Ava, Brandy, Sandra and Mike, Genesis, Kiah, Levi and Hadessah; great grandchildren, Riker, Callie, and Emri. He has a nephew, Kenneth Jr, and very special niece, Jessica Lawson and her children, Angel, TJ, Brooke, and Blake.

David will be missed by his many, many friends including his lifelong buddy, mentor, and boxing coach Gene Clark.

David worked in construction most of his life. He was a Golden Gloves boxing Champion in 1973. He enjoyed fishing, and spending time with friends and making them laugh... sometimes on purpose!  He loved riding motorcycles, watching football, and listening to music. He was a regular at the Camden Whiskey bar where he was loved dearly by many friends and will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be held at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, Wednesday, November 8 from 6-8PM with the funeral service immediately following at 8PM.
