Rosie L. Gilbert

Rosie L. Gilbert, 88, formerly of West Alexandria, OH, of Garland, TX, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, January 4, 2014 in Garland. Born in Brookville, OH, she was a daughter of the late Reuben & Margaret (Marsh) Good. Rosie was a Life Member of the Auxiliary of VFW Post #3288 of Brookville and AmVets Post #726 of Eldorado, OH. She attended the Family of God Ministries in Arcanum and The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, TX, where she was a member of Perry's Prayer Warriors Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Donald F. "Red" Gilbert on November 1, 2002: son Dan H. Gilbert on April 9, 1993: brothers Fred, Oscar, John and David Good: sisters Vinetta Stephenson, Dorothy Terrill, Alice Wellbaum, Loretta Rousseau and Cora Good: great grandchildren Stephen Gilbert, Rachael Brown and Alan Thompson. Survived by children Donald R. "Butch" Gilbert & wife Joyce of Arcanum; Raymond J. "Doc" Gilbert & wife Judith of Richmond, IN; and Linda R. Shoemaker & husband Wayne of Garland, TX: brother Robert Good of Piqua, OH: 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Pastors Joe LeMaster and Jerry Carter presiding. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
