Rosie Vergene Anderson-Smith

Rosie Vergene Anderson-Smith, 93, of Gallatin, TN and formerly of Eaton, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 12, 2016. Born March 10, 1923 in Union City, IN, she was a daughter of the late James B. & Daisy M. (Tipple) Evans. She attended the Warner Beauty College of Ft. Wayne, IN and worked 10 years at Milady's Salon in Union City, IN, becoming the owner in 1953. Moving to Eaton in 1951, she operated the Eaton Dairy Queen for 25 years. She was a member of the Eaton United Methodist Church and, more recently, the Cornerstone Church in Gallatin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands Robert Brierly on November 30, 1987; Raymond Anderson in May of 1996; and Gillian Smith in July of 2004: brother and sisters Vernon Evans, Anna Fae Moore and Florence Mae Harris; She is survived by children Dane M. (Jalane) Brierly of Eaton; David E. (Diana) Brierly of West Alexandria, OH; and Deborah J. (Terry) Kretz of Gallatin: step children Teri Hughes, Marilyn Thompson, Daniel Anderson, Milton Smith, Paul Smith, Diane Smith and Andrea Smith: numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren: and a host of other family and friends.
