Robert Wells

Rev. Robert L. Wells of Xenia, formerly of New Lebanon and Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Heartland of Miamisburg after a long illness.  He was a decorated Veteran of the United States Army, having served in the South Pacific during World War II.  He was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1955, and served as the pastor for congregations in Nashville, TN, Oneida, TN, Batavia, OH, and Brookville, OH.  He joined Dayton Central Church of the Nazarene in the early 1960's, and served as an associate pastor and in many leadership roles for that congregation.He was preceded in death by his loving wife Vivian (Graves) Wells, parents Cecil and Edna Wells, sisters Jennie Parker, Serena Howell (Russell), and brother Cecil Wells Jr. (Pauline).  He is survived by his children Timothy of Blacklick, OH, Jonathan (MaDonna) of New Lebanon, OH, and daughter Melody Vecchi (Peter) of Xenia, OH, grandchildren Timothy Austin, Jonathan (Jessie), Joshua (Rachel) and Kayonna Wells, and Christopher (Barbara), Matthew (Sara), and Maria Vecchi, and six great-grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled from 2-4pm on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Dayton Central Church of the Nazarene, 610 Brown St., Dayton, OH, with funeral service scheduled after the visitation at 4pm, with Rev. Gerald Vaught officiating.  Burial is scheduled for 9:30am on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City, OH.  Funeral Arrangements made through the Robert L.
