Robert A. Furrey Sr.

Robert A. Furrey, Sr., 62, of Eaton, OH, passed away suddenly on Wednesday afternoon March 11, 2015. Born August 23, 1952, he was a son of the late Joseph J. & Margaret M. (Kastner) Furrey. Bob retired in November of 2014 from Parker Hannifin after 42 years of service. He was a 1970 graduate of Twin Valley North and earned his Bachelor's Degree in 2006 from Indiana Wesleyan University. A devoted Ohio State football fan, he ushered home games for 5 years and was known to say "You can never have enough Ohio State stuff". He loved to attend his grandchildren's activities, playing golf with friends and spending time with his dog "Woody". He was a member of Visitation Catholic Church in Eaton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother Richard Furrey in 2009. Survived by loving wife of 43 years Sheila J. (Spitler) whom he married March 18, 1972: children Lori & Scott Trunck of Eaton and Robert A. Furrey, Jr. of Eaton: grandchildren Hunter and Hayden Trunck, Tiara and Anthony Furrey: brothers and sister James Furrey, John (Pam) Furrey and Rebecca Furrey all of Eaton: sister-in-law Jennifer Furrey of Tipp City, OH: mother-in-law Doris Spitler of Eaton: brother-in-law Dennis (Patti) Spitler of TN: nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday and 10:00 - 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Rescue Squad.
