Richard J. Carroll

Richard J. Carroll, 74, of West Alexandria, OH, passed away Wednesday morning, November 25, 2015 at Vancrest of Eaton. Born April 3, 1941 in Scranton, PA, he was a son of the late Ann (Chadwick) Carroll. Richard served with the U.S. Marine Corp from 1958 - 1962. He retired after 50 years as an over-the-road truck driver and also served as a trainer for future truck drivers. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting, reading and classical music. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by sister Barbara Ann Carroll; and brothers Robert Michael, John Paul and Gerard Edward Carroll. Richard is survived by devoted wife Carolyn S. (Chasteen) Moore-Carroll whom he married November 6, 1999: daughter Debbie Hetzer and family: step daughters Michelle (Robert) Lesh and their sons Chris and Nick Lesh; and Jodi L. Etheridge and daughter Candace Moore: brothers and sisters Joseph Carroll, Nancy Judge, Debbieann Mazzarella and Tina Howe: along with a host of other family. A memorial service for Richard will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
