Raymond Smith

Raymond D. Smith, age 97, of Eaton, OH, passed away Saturday morning, February 26, 2011 at Heartland of Eaton. Born October 16, 1913 in Lanier Twp., Preble County, OH, he was a son of the late Jacob & Cora (Eakle) Smith. He farmed and retired from Richmond Industrial Supply in 1978. He enjoyed competiing in hand corn shucking contests in the senior division; and collecting antique wrenches. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death on September 6, 1998 by his wife of 58 years Mayfra (Lynch) Smith: brothers Amos and Russell Smith: and son-in-law William Klinger. Survived by son & daughter-in-law Donald & Liz Smith of Eaton; daughter Janet Klinger of Eaton: grandchildren Melissa (Larry) Burkett of Dublin, OH; Deron (Angela) Smith of Trenton, OH; Dustin Klinger & fiancé Melissa Maroney of New Lebanon, OH: great grandchildren Lindsey, Ryan and Tyler Burkett; Lauren Parker, Jenna, Jakob and Alivia Smith; Cecilia Klinger. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Pastor Randall Harvey presiding.
