Phoebe J. Korns

96, of Eaton, formerly Verona, went Home to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 17, 2024.

She was born September 30, 1928, in Verona, to the late Ray and Altha G. (Myers) Floyd.

In addition to her parents, Phoebe was preceded in death by son, Joe Kenworthy and Mark Korns; sister, Merlene Stine; and brother, Harold Floyd.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Paul Korns; children, Bruce (Penny) Kenworthy, Twila (Mike) Fugate, Kevin (Lynette) Kenworthy, Gena Rieck, Stephen (Victoria) Korns, and Michael (Laura) Korns; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many more family and friends.

Phoebe, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was an inspiration to many, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and melody. She was a dedicated library cataloger at Richmond Community Schools, retiring in 1988 after 21 years of service. Her meticulous work enriched the lives of countless students and staff.

Phoebe had a tender heart and a whimsical spirit, as seen in her cherished collection of teddy bears, each holding a special memory. Music was her passion, and her voice brought joy to those around her. While living in Florida with her husband, Paul, she found a second family in the Village Singers, sharing her talent and love of harmony with the community.

Her days were filled with music, laughter, and the quiet happiness of a life well-lived. Phoebe’s memory will forever be a melody in the hearts of those who knew her.
