Paul J. Sauer, Jr.
91, of New Lebanon, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
He was born June 5, 1931 in Dayton, to the late Paul J., Sr. and Clara L. (Stump) Sauer.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Howerton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Donna Sauer; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Carolyn Sauer and Bruce and Sharon Sauer; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and sister, Darlene Erisman.
Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from NCR. He had been a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in New Lebanon where he loved to sing in the choir, and more recently a member of Salem Lutheran Church in West Alexandria. When he wasn’t fishing, Paul could be found enjoying time with his kids and coaching baseball for his grandsons. He will be most remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and sarcastic remarks and being a loving family man.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 28 from 10AM to 12PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, 3377 US Route 35 East, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 12PM with Pastor Dan Mershon officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Alexandria.
