Norma (Robertson)

Norma Sue (Robertson) Mox, age 82, of Farmersville, OH, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 15, 2013. Norma was born June 14, 1930 in Dunmor, KY to the late Ura and Mattie D. (Penrod) Robertson. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years Edwin A, Mox in 1981. Also preceding her in death were her brother Rex E. Robertson of Dayton, sister Jean Houston of Lakewood, CO, and dear friend of 22 years George Nixon of Farmersville. Norma started working at GMAC in 1948 following graduation from Kiser High School, and retired in 1981. She sang with the Gem City Chapter of Sweet Adelines for several years in the 1980's and loved to sing, dance and have a good time. She was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare dinner for family and friends. Norma leaves behind her daughter Melanie (Mox) Shafer of Clayton, OH: grandchildren Jonathan and Erica Shafer of Cleveland, OH; Daniel and Rebekah Shafer of Clayton, OH: great grandchildren Jackson and Harrison Shafer. She is also survived by sister Martine Driskill of Dunmor, KY: beloved nieces, nephews and their children Paula (Terry) Sherman, Don (Carol) Mox, Jeff (Karen) Mox, Scott (Barbara) Houston, Evelyn Hennegar, Laurel (Orin) Coakley: dear friends Mark and Sherry Chroniak and family. A special thank you to Susan Nash and Emilee Smoot for their kindness and loving care of Mom and to Pastor Susan Hartman for her loving support. Friends and family are invited to gather for viewing from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Susan Hartman presiding.
