Muriel (Sissy) May Gilbert Walters, 75 yrs old, died on 6, March, 2016, at Vancrest, Eaton, Ohio after a long battle with diabetes and renal disease. Muriel (Sissy) was born on December 31, 1940 in Hamilton, Ohio to Harold Gilbert and Mildred Lee (Walton) Hampton. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and honest demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. She has always been committed to nurturing others through her love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten. A woman of faith, she possessed a true servant's heart which shaped many spiritually through her tireless Christian example. Muriel was a member of Trinity Holiness Church, West College Corner, IN and regularly attended Lewisburg Church of God, Lewisburg, OH. She is survived by four children, Mike (Trish) Howard, Gratis, OH, David (Gayle) Howard, Chickasha, OK, Lisa Weireter (Rod Hoppes), Greenfield, IN and Kimberly Childers, Somerville, OH, Step-children, David Walters of West College Corner, OH, Jamie(Jeraldyne) Walters, Liberty, IN, Vicky (Ken) Crowder, Liberty, IN, Half-Sister, Sue Ann Gilbert, Richmond, IN, many Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren as well as faithful friends whose undying love will always be remembered. Special thanks to granddaughters, Angel and Jessica for your benevolence during her many hospital stays. Preceded in death by: Husband, Rev. Arthur Walters, Father Harold Gilbert, Mother Mildred Lee Hampton, Step-father Albert Hampton, Brother William Lee Gilbert, and Half-Sister Lois Kawley. Visitation information for friends and family of Muriel (Sissy) Walters: Visitation 12:00 - 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center/Preble Memory Gardens, 3377 US-35, West Alexandria, OH 45381. Services will follow at 2:00 pm. Britt Hensley officiating, special words from Robbie Beckett & Linda Evans. Interment will follow at Preble Memory Gardens. Memorial donations can be made to: • Preble County Council on Aging 800 E Saint Clair St, Eaton, OH 45320 •Yet, beyond financial donations, Muriel always lived by the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Do a loving act of kindness, make someone laugh, send a card, give a hug, or say "I love you" to your special friend in her memory. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, but including: Family and friends - either through prayer and/or visits, neighbors, and even random acts of kindness through total "strangers".
