Michael Eugene Gayhart

Michael Eugene Gayhart, known as Homer and Beardy, 64, of West Elkton, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his back room on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. He was born on November 1, 1954 to Audney and Juanita (Miller) Gayhart. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Juanita, daughter Mandy (Big Moo) and sister in-laws Kathy and Jaci. Mike was employed at Neyra Paving, and looking forward to retirement. He loved to go fishing, watching western movies, eating good food, and giving his family a hard time. He was a derby car driver and a figure 8 champion. Above all, he was a loving and caring family man. Mike's world revolved around his family; siblings Larry (Janice), Mark, Darryl, David, Amy (Jeff), Kim (Hoobie), and Michelle (Fred), the love of his life, Kim (Rader) Gayhart, his six children Johnny, Mandy [known as Big Moo], Mickie Jo (Roach), Mindy (Adam), Michael, and Jerad (Tiffany), his six grandchildren Breonna, Richard, Nevaeh, Dillon, Merrick, and Kayden. Because of his tough demeanor, Mike was compared to John Wayne. "Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway."
