Melva E. Chenoweth, 73, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Sunday morning, April 21, 2019. Born January 18, 1946 at home on the farm on Quaker Trace Rd., Gratis Township. She was a daughter of the late Edwin C. and Mary (Kitson) Howard. She attended Gratis Schools until 1962. In 1989 she went on to earn her G.E.D. diploma. Melva worked for the Preble County Courthouse from 1989 to 2009, retiring in January of 2010. She is preceded in death in 2002 by husband Clyde G. Chenoweth, whom she married in 1965; her father in 1970 and her mother in 1983; brothers George, Edwin, Robert, David, Charles and Glenn Howard; and sisters Marguerite Back and Margie Mullins. Survived by son and daughter-in-law Thomas D. and Kimberly A. Howard; granddaughters Sheena Mitchell and husband Scott, Tera May and husband Rodney, and Jennifer Eidem and husband Brad; and 9 great grandchildren; brothers Danny Howard and Terry Howard. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses - 229 Wayne Trace Rd. - Eaton, OH.
