Melissa A. Newkirk

Newkirk, Melissa A. (Hardwick) Age 79, of Eaton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 10, 2019. She was born April 23, 1940 in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Herman Pete and Emily (Richardson) Hardwick. In addition to her parents, Melissa was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Newkirk, son, Dave Skaggs; and siblings, Susan Elliott, Phillip Hardwick, and Joe Hardwick. She is survived by her son, Steve (Debbie) Skaggs; daughter, Becky Skaggs; step-son, John Newkirk, Jr.; step-daughter, Monica Newkirk; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many special friends. Melissa was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed baking and gardening. She worked at Midland Container and retired from the Red Mule. The family would like to give Vancrest Healthcare Center and their staff a special thank you for care given to Melissa during her stay.
