Mary G. Jackson

Mary G. Jackson, 83, formerly of West Alexandria, OH and Tennessee, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Sunday evening February 14, 2021 in Columbus. Born February 10, 1938, she was the fourth of six children born to the late Richard and Mattie (Keaton) Brannon. She was a graduate of Lanier high School. Later in life she was a 12 year resident of Madisonville, TN where she lived on family property that was land granted to her grandfather as payment for serving during the civil war. Mary enjoyed flowers and gardening, reading, painting and making and firing her own ceramics. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by infant daughter Donna Lynn McMurray; grandchildren Zooey Pfeiffer and Sylas Warwick; brothers and sister Richard Brannon, Jr., Wanda Lee McMurray, Carl Brannon and Thomas McMurray. She is survived by daughter Cynthia Pfeiffer and husband Mark of Columbus, IN; son Rodney McMurray and wife Wanda of Lewisburg; grandchildren Rodney McMurray, II, Jonathan McMurray, Mary McMurray, Christy Walton, Michael Warwick, Mark Gregory Pfeiffer, II and Ryan Pfeiffer; great grandchildren Kayleigh, Zachary, Landon, Taylor, Caitlyn, Curtis, Keely, Kierra, Michael, Allen, Brice, Brandon and Addalyn; and sister Dorothy McMurray of West Alexandria. Friends may call on the family from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35, West Alexandria. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Elbert Sorrell presiding; and conclude with burial ceremonies at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
