Mary (Fudge) Dunn

Mary Catherine (Fudge) Dunn, age 84, of Eaton, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, January 5, 2011. Born March 5, 1926 in Monett, MO, she was a daughter of the late Paul & Marie (Martz) Fudge. She grew up in Eaton and was a member of the 1944 graduating class of Eaton High School. While in high school, she learned to be a meat cutter while working at her family's grocery store in Eaton; and in the late 1940's worked as a beauty operator at Rike's Department Store in downtown Dayton. In later years, she worked at NCR in Dayton and Browning Mfg. in Eaton. Mrs. Dunn was the owner/operator of Mary's Cut & Curl Beauty Shop in Eaton from 1986 until her retirement in 2001 at the age of 75. She was a member of Eaton United Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands David Montgomery and Thomas Dunn: grandson Michael Manning: and brother Donald Fudge. Survived by daughter Cheryl Manning of Eaton: sons CMSgt. Joel Montgomery serving with the USAF Reserve at McGuire AFB, New Jersey; and Thomas Montgomery & wife Linda of Eaton: grandchildren Amy (Bill) Salyers of Ross, OH; Brianne Goodson of Haughton, LA; Eric (Tara) Montgomery of Eaton: and Erin Montgomery of Eaton: great grandchildren Katie Manning; Cole and Isaac (Manning) Foster; Ali, Jennifer, Bethany and Jacob Salyers; Holden and Davin Goodson; Max and Ava Montgomery: and sister Carol (Gene) Miley of Eaton. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ray Sowder presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton United Church of Christ - 113 W. Decatur St. - Eaton, OH - 45320.
