Mary Lou DeVilbiss, 87 of West Alexandria, OH, passed away Thursday evening, May 28, 2015 at Zusman Hospice in Columbus. Born June 22, 1927 in Clarksburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late George & Georgia M. (Miller) Collins. A 1945 graduate of Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg, she went on to attend the West Virginia State Business College. A stay at home wife, mother and homemaker, she entered the workplace after her children were in college. After moving to Illinois, she worked as the activities director for Catholic Charities of Waukegan and later in the office of the of the Illinois Lt. Governor. She and her husband often traveled outside the US and enjoyed the diversity of foreign countries and cultures. Mary Lou was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in West Alexandria; the Gleaners Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star of West Alexandria; and member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 322 of West Alexandria. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on August 31, 2012 by husband of 53 years Alfred V. DeVilbiss: son Alfred Ward DeVilbiss: grandson Justin Peffley; and brother John Collins. Survived by children Carolyn Clevenger & partner Jim Ferguson; Sharron Pierce; Shirleann Fahrenholz & husband Michael; Herbert DeVilbiss & wife Karen; Richard Peffley & wife Nazlin; and Timothy Peffley: grandchildren John (Anna) Fahrenholz, Mariann (Jennifer) Fahrenholz Day, Douglas (Lisa) Pierce, Matthew (Rachel) Pierce, Nathan Peffley, Sultana Peffley, Majeed Peffley: great grandchildren Isabella, William, Daniel and Lucas Fahrenholz; Abigail, Annie, and Andrew Fahrenholz Day; Madeleine and Emilie Pierce; and Hannah Pierce. Friends may call on the family from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
