Mary Lena Dean

Mary Lena Dean, 79, of Eaton, OH, went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, August 28, 2014, with her family by her side. Born January 20, 1935 in Scott County, VA, she was a daughter of the late George & Myra (McMurray) Carter. A faithful and caring Christian women, she was a member of the Christian Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Germantown, OH. She formerly worked for Dayton Flexible Products of Eaton for several years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother Cecil Carter and sisters Ann Carter McMurray and Minnie Carter Cox. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by husband of 62 years Arvil Dean; son & daughter-in-law James & Linda Dean of Vandalia, OH: grandchildren Chelsea Dean of Cincinnati, OH and Kyle Dean of Arlington, VA: sisters Ruby (Winston) Peters of Weber City, VA and Faye Woods of Church Hill, TN: special niece Angela Cox: along with numerous other nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Pastors Bobby Reed and Holie VanHoose presiding. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Friday (today) at the Funeral Home.
