Mark A. Bennett
63, of Eaton, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023.
He was born June 3, 1960, in Dayton, to the late Earl E. and Mildred N. (Nixon) Bennett.
Mark is survived by his sons, Anthony Bennett, and his wife, Katie, and Chris Bennett; grandchildren, Dakota, Grayson, and Charlotte; sisters, Carolyn Sue Patton and Gina Stover, and her husband, Jon; and many more family and friends.
As a Staff Sergeant, Mark was a brave and dedicated member of the United States Marine Corps, who served with honor during the historic Desert Storm conflict. He valiantly stood at the forefront, stationed in Kuwait, displaying unwavering courage and commitment to his duty. Today, we gather to bid farewell to a true hero whose legacy will forever inspire us.
Mark's military service was marked by his exceptional leadership, resilience, and selflessness. He fearlessly faced the challenges of war, demonstrating a steadfast dedication to protecting his fellow soldiers and defending his country. He led by example, instilling discipline, unity, and a sense of purpose in those under his command. His unwavering commitment to duty and unwavering sense of honor earned him the respect and admiration of all who served alongside him.
Beyond his military achievements, Mark possessed a gentle and creative spirit. During his free time, he found joy in assembling model airplanes. With meticulous attention to detail, he transformed individual pieces into beautiful aircraft, each one a testament to his patience and precision. The artistry and craftsmanship he poured into his hobby reflected his unwavering dedication to excellence in all aspects of his life.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 18 from 11AM to 1PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, 3377 US Route 35 East, West Alexandria, 45381, with the funeral service starting at 1PM. Burial with military honors will follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Alexandria.
