Marion A. Maynard, 87, of Lewisburg, OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, January 15, 2020 at his home. Born February 15, 1932 in Zebulon, KY, he was a son of the late Robert M. and Hettie (Looney) Maynard. He proudly served with the US Army from 1952 - 1954. Early in life, Marion worked in construction and was also a heavy equipment operator. Then, for the next 45 years, he was the owner of the Lewisburg IGA and the well-known Midway Restaurant in Lewisburg. He was a man with a strong Christian faith and at one time, served as a minister with the Church of Christ in Dayton. Marion was also a member of the Lewisburg Lions Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death on December 31, 1993 by beloved wife Blanche (McCoy) Maynard; grandchildren Chassity Hall, Kimberly Maynard and Eric Hofacker; along with 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Survived by children Brenda Whitlow and husband Charles, Timmy Maynard and wife Anita, Deborah Maynard, Donna Hofacker and husband Randy, and Steven Maynard; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren; companion of 20 years Irene Vore, sisters Geraldine Collins and Gay Smith; brother Ronnie Maynard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Brother Don Tucker presiding. Services will conclude at the graveside at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery with a brief committal service and presentation of the military honors at the graveside by the Preble County Honor Guard.
