Marilyn H. Sartain

Marilyn H. Sartain, 83, of New Lebanon, OH, passed away early Thursday morning, August 11, 2016 following a lengthy illness. Born October 7, 1932 in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius & Helen (Russell) Sears. A 1950 graduate of Piqua High School, Marilyn then earned her license as a registered nurse in 1953 from Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati. Over the years, she worked at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, the medical office of Dr. James A. Sims, and later as a home care nurse, retiring after 41 years. Her activities included membership in the Dixie Pathfinders of New Lebanon, the Red Hatters Society, and the Silver Thimbles Quilting Club. She was a longtime member of Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church in Trotwood, and had been active in many Church activities. In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death on February 16, 2005 by husband Allen E. Sartain whom she married May 11, 1957: and brother David Sears in 1999. Survived by sister-in-law Alma Lee Sears of Dayton: nephews David Lee (Lorraine) Sears of Dayton and James R. (Debbie) Sears of Winterhaven, FL: great nephews Michael James (Kim) Burkholder of Dayton; Brian (Crystal) Sears of FL; great nieces Nahcole (Matt) Christ and Heather (Joe) Dusek both of FL: great great nieces and nephews Michael and Conner Burkholder, Tobin and Lexie Sears, Abbey and Taylor Dusek.
