Mack Caudill
72, of Eaton, went Home to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 29, 2024.
He was born October 13, 1951, in Hamilton, to the late Bruner and Lula Caudill.
In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by several siblings.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Victoria; our wonderful children, Tamela and Ralph Moore; grandchildren, Kyle Moore, Cody (Gabrielle) Moore, and John Ryan Sparks; siblings, Sandy (Steve) Efker, Linda “Button” Arnold, Jerry Caudill, Donna Barker, Betty (Jerry) Back, and Steve (Linda) Caudill; numerous nieces and nephews; and special thanks to Victoria’s precious sisters for always having her back.
Mack served his nation with honor in the U.S. Army, where he had a deep sense of duty that he carried with him throughout his life. After his military service, he embarked on a long and successful career at AK Steel.
In retirement, Mack found joy in giving back to his community through his work at the Eaton Council on Aging. But Mack was happiest at home, surrounded by the things he loved most. He was an avid gardener, tending to his plants with the same care and attention he gave to everything in his life. His garden was a sanctuary, a place where he found peace and fulfillment, and where he spent countless hours enjoying the beauty of nature.
In April this year he was told by doctors that there was nothing more they could really do for him, and he should go home and get his affairs in order. So, he decided he was going to go home and live his life until he couldn’t live it any longer. And that is exactly what he did. He asked the Lord to give him enough time to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary together, which we did on August 18, and he also wanted to be here long enough to see our Jerry have his shoulder surgery and make sure he was going to be OK. Jerry had his surgery and had his follow up checkup yesterday, August 28 and had a wonderful checkup. So today we had a wonderful day together. We took a drive into town and got a Frosty from Wendy’s, then came home and took a ride on the golf cart looking at the beautiful yard and flowers. Mackie loved the outdoors and our yard. Then our Mackie said goodbye to us and entered those wonderful gates of Heaven as they opened for him, right from the yard where he loved to be. Not a day will go by that you will not be missed. I love you dearly Mackie. Your wife always and forever, Victoria.
