Lynn R. Morey

80, of Richmond, Indiana, graduated to Heaven on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 after a valiant battle with cancer.

He was born May 4, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota to his parents, Pete and Bernice J. (Thill) Morey.

Lynn was preceded in death by his dad, Irving Peter (Pete) Morey; and son, Peter Lynn (Pete) Morey.

He is survived by his mom, Bernice Morey; loving wife of 52 years, Rosalind Morey; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sarah Morey; daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Jeff Ogren, and their children, Zachariah and Jeremiah; daughter-in-law, Krista Morey, and her children, Gary and Alex; and a multitude of other family and friends.

Lynn devoted his life to serving others. He served as the pastor of several congregations in the Church of God for many years, ministering to people in their time of need. Lynn had a way of making people feel heard and valued, and he touched many lives through his ministry.

In addition to his work as a pastor, Lynn was also a substitute high school teacher.  Lynn had a deep love for nature and spent much of his free time hiking and exploring the great outdoors. He also served as an addiction counselor. He worked with Hope House and Cross Road Recovery Center helping people find freedom from addiction through Christ.

Lynn was a remarkable man who touched many lives during his time on earth. He will be remembered for his kindness, his compassion, and his unwavering commitment to serving others. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire and guide those who knew him.

Visitation Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 3PM to 5PM at Eaton First Church of God, 601 E Lexington Rd, Eaton, OH 45320. The funeral service will begin at 5PM with Pastor Aaron Holman officiating. It was Lynn’s desire to be cremated after the service with a burial at a later date.
