Lucy "Edna" Hurst

Lucy Edna Hurst, age 96 of West Alexandria, Ohio passed away on the evening of Wednesday November 4, 2015 at Vancrest Nursing Home in Eaton. Born in Clay County, KY on July 3, 1919 she was a daughter to the late Lucian and Sarah (Lovins) Morgan. Edna was a 1936 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio. She was a member of St. John Church in West Alexandria, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Farmersville, Ohio. Edna enjoyed camping, traveling, knitting, quilting and sewing. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by siblings J.B. Morgan; Roland Morgan and Katie Belle Eppler. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, James "JO" Hurst; whom she married on February 22, 1941 : children Philip (Claudia) Hurst of West Alexandria and Karen (David) Mays of West Alexandria : sister Mary Margaret Suggs, West Alexandria: grandchildren Michael (Regina) Goad of West Alexandria; Kevin (December) Goad of Louisville, KY; Lucian (Sherry) Hurst of Lewisburg, OH, John C. Hurst, of Eaton OH, and Carla (Johnny) Clark of West Alexandria: 13 great- grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family members. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
