Lillian "Granny" Yost

Lillian E. "Granny" (Penwell) Yost, formerly of West Manchester and Eaton, born August 4, 1923, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 1:36 a.m. after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Katie Penwell; brother, Jerald Penwell; husband, Franklin A. Yost; sons, Franklin A. Yost, Jr. and Todd Oliver Yost; and great grandchildren, Victoria and Morgan Robert. She is survived by her sister, Betty R. (Penwell) Method; daughters Melanie (& Russell) Robert and Dianna (& Robert) Thomas; grandchildren: Ronald (& Sharon) Robert, Dean (& Susan) Robert, Matthew Robert, Troy Maxel, Todd (& Julie) Maxel, Gina (& Ernie) Hatmaker; Teresa (Rogers) Robert; 4 step-grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 16 step-great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; 3 step-great-great grandchildren; and endeared nieces and nephews. She was lovingly called "Granny" by all those associated with her from schools, community, church, and family, where she was an avid follower of her grandchildren & great-grandchildren's activities. Additionally, Granny was part of a special "family" at The Greenbriar Campus in Eaton. She was an active member of Full Gospel Temple, Full Gospel Temple Widow/Widowers and Daughters of the King. She was also a member of Extension Homemakers, 50 year member of OES and former Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls. On her behalf, the family would like to sincerely thank the compassionate caregivers at Good Samaritan Hospital and Hospice of Dayton. Friends may call on the family from 11 a.m.-1 p.m, Friday, June 3 at the Full Gospel Temple, 4745 N US 127, Eaton, OH. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kenneth Harbaum officiating. Interment will be in Monroe Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria. Although she loved flowers, contributions to Full Gospel Temple or Preble County Veterans' Services, 108 N. Barron St., Eaton, OH 45320 would be a lasting memorial.
