Lester C. Helsley, III, 61, of Eaton, OH, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 25, 2012. Born in Hamilton, OH, he was a son of Lester C., Jr. and Naomi Ruth (Hartman) Helsley. He worked as an auto body repairman throughout the greater Dayton area, and last worked for White Allen dealerships. A fan of Elvis and sprint car dirt racing, he also was a stock car racer for many years. Lester dearly loved cats as was known by some as "the cat man of Preble County". He is preceded in death by mother Naomi and by sister Tina Savage. Survived by wife of 42 years Jeanie (Hunt) Helsley; children Pati Rogers & husband Mike of Kettering, OH; Lester C. Helsley, IV & wife Jessica of New Paris, OH; and Jonathan Helsley of Eaton: 6 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter: brother and sisters Tom Helsley of Middletown, OH; Darlene Wyatt of Somerville, OH; and Rosalee Bowling of Eaton. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH.
