Lela Patterson

Lela (Sasser) Patterson, of Eaton, OH, passed away peacefully at home with family on October, 10, 2011. She was born to Arthur and Nancy (Boggs) Sasser on February 8, 1923 in London, Kentucky. Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Dorothy and Bertha, five brothers Bailey, Boyd, William, Paul and Donald. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John; three children, James and Carol Patterson of Springfield, OH, Joyce and Robert Bowersock of Eaton, OH, and John and Mary Patterson of Brentwood, TN; 9 grandchildren, 8 spouses of grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Lela was a Charter Member of First Baptist Church in Camden, OH, and is currently a member of Northview Baptist Church in Hillsboro, OH, where she and her husband lived for 25 years. She was employed by Globe Wernicke in Norwood, OH, during WWII, and later by Rexarc Inc. in West Alexandria, OH, and Browning Distribution in Eaton, OH. Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Pastor Jeff Griffin presiding. Visitation with family will be at 12:00 - 2:00 PM. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Preble County, OH. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Vitas Hospice.
