Kenneth E. Garner

Kenneth E. Garner, age 67, of Lewisburg, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon at his home, March 4, 2014. Born January 4, 1947 in Eaton, OH, he was a son of the late Willard E. & Garnet I. (Studebaker) Garner. Ken served with the US Army during the Vietnam War from January 1967 - December 1968 as a helicopter mechanic, spending nearly a year in Germany. He retired in 2007 after 41 years from Parker Hannifin in Eaton, and bowled with the company's league bowling team for many years. He enjoyed fishing and camping; formerly played softball in Eldorado; and earned many trophies for his yellow 1967 Ford Fairlane at area car shows. Survived by wife Barbara J. (Ragle) Garner, whom he married April 10, 2009: daughters Carolyn Garno & husband Dan and Minda Howard & husband Joe all of Arcanum, OH: step children Dina Maldonado & husband Simon of Uvalta, TX and Jerry Ramey & wife Veda of Richmond, IN: 3 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren: sisters and brothers Sheila North & husband Michael of Lewisburg; Boyd L. Garner & wife Carolyn of Greenville, OH; Connie S. Root of Eaton; Rodney J. Garner & wife Timy of Camden, OH: and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Pastor Rodney Shelley presiding.
