Kenneth V. Crowell

Kenneth V. Crowell, age 95, Of Eaton, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, November 6, 2013. Born in Eaton, he was a son of the late Albert & Ruth (Winholt) Crowell. Mr. Crowell retired as the manager of the Lakengren Sewage Department and had formerly served as manager for Lakengren. A lifelong farmer in Lanier and Jefferson Townships, he was a member of the Preble County Farm Bureau. He formerly worked in the 1940's for the Inland Division of General Motors in Dayton; in later years for Eddie Nave Construction in Preble County; and as a school bus driver from 1957 - 1962 for New Paris/Jefferson schools.. He was a member of the West Alexandria Church of the Brethren and was a former member and Sunday School Superintendent for the St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris. He always had a joke to tell and enjoyed woodworking, making clocks and plaques from cypress wood. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by beloved wife Mildred I. (Brower) Crowell on May 13, 2012: brother Gerald Crowell and sister Claudine Hoke. Survived by children Larry Crowell & wife Ruth Ann of Englewood, OH; Howard Crowell & wife Joann of Richmond, IN; Karen Kirk & husband Chuck of Germantown, OH; Monita Clark & husband Jim of Arcadia, FL; and Rhonda Lee & husband John of Eaton: 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren: sister Ruth Miller & husband Robert of Eaton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Pastor Brody Rike presiding.
