June Marie Schmiel

June Marie Schmiel, 96, formerly of Brookville, OH and Minneapolis, MN, passed away Friday morning August 5, 2016 at the Brookdale Senior Living Center, Englewood, OH. Born July 30, 1920 in Detroit, MI, she was a daughter of the late James A. & Elsie A. (Rehs) Dawson. She retired in 1981 from the Champion Packaging Company in St. Paul, MN. Her favorite hobby was oil painting and she made many beautiful works over the years. June is survived by daughters Nancy A. Hartfelder & husband Joe of New Lebanon, OH; Dinah Rosemary Globokar of Phoenix, AZ; and Peggy Jo Van Baskirk of Cleveland Heights, OH: numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 - 11:30 AM Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. The funeral service will begin 11:30 AM Monday with Terry Smith presiding. The family will host a gathering of family and friends in the funeral home's community center immediately following the service.
