Joyce A. Remaklus

Joyce A. Remaklus, 82, of Eaton, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at VanCrest Care Center in Eaton. Born July 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Muriel (Kemper) Carrington. Joyce worked as an insurance agent for twenty five years in Preble County and in Florida; then retired after five years with the Preble County Council on Aging. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Eaton, member of the Auxiliary of American Legion Post # 215 of Eaton, and was a member of the Rosie Red Hatters of Eaton, which she founded on her sixty eighth birthday. Of all the gifts she had to give, laughter was her favorite. Joyce loved being a grandmother. She had the honor of spending many, many hours caring for her beloved granddaughter Carly, who was afflicted with Trisomy 18. Carly blessed her family for almost 12 years and has been walking with Jesus since 2009. She is survived by her husband Lee Remaklus, whom she married December 30, 2000: daughter Terri Lohmann and husband Robert of Cincinnati, Ohio: son Todd Charles and wife Amy of Eaton: grandchildren Michelle Ann Michael and husband Matt of Chicago, IL; Phillip Lohmann of Cincinnati; Shaylie Wilson Werner of Eaton; Rachel, Emma, Hanna and Benjamin Charles of Eaton; and Caila and Jamie of Eaton: step children Cheri Schaeffer and husband Paul of Eaton; Mark Remaklus and wife Denise of Eaton; Mary Goubeaux and husband Tim of Eaton; Lisa Trimble and husband Bob of Mesa, Arizona; James Remaklus and wife Angie of Savannah, Georgia; and John Remaklus of Eaton: along with numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren: brother Lewis Carrington and wife Pennie of Berrien Springs, Michigan. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Roger Stine presiding.
