Joy Violet Brock

Joy Violet ( McKenney) Brock, 86 of West Alexandria, Ohio, went be with the Lord at her home, and surrounded by her family, on Monday evening, November 17, 2014. Born Feb. 2, 1928 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky to William Oliver McKenney and Oatie Emma (Dyer) McKenney. She was united in marriage to Cleo Brock on October 2, 1948 in Rossville, Georgia. She served the Lord faithfully at the Union Pentecostal Church for 48 years. She is preceded in death by son Steve Brock: granddaughter Amy Marie Maggard: father and mother: sisters Zula Carrol, Lois Sexton, Elizabeth Hunt and Eunice Lawrence: brothers Leanard McKenny, and Eldridge McKenny: two half brothers Claud McKenney and Walter McKenney: two half sisters Sophia Anderson and Grace Radford. Survived by husband of 66 years Cleo Brock: daughter and son-In-law Debbie and Sherman Maggard of West Alexandria: daughter-in-law Barbara Brock Shirden of Richmond, Indiana: grandchildren Aaron and Martha Maggard, Ruth Maggard, Jonathan and Kristin Maggard all of West Alexandria; Ben and Niki Brock of Richmond, Indiana, and Emily Shirden of Detroit, Michigan: great grandchildren Miriam Maggard, Joanna Maggard, Rebekah Maggard, Susanna Maggard, Stephen Maggard, Ethan Maggard, Malachi Maggard, Zoe Brock and A J Brock. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Union Pentecostal Church - 1101 N. Union Rd. - Dayton, OH.
