Josephine A. Baker

Josephine A. Baker, 80, of Eaton, OH, passed away late Monday night March 22, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center. Born June 2, 1940, she was one of eight children born to the late Chester and Marie (Rogers) Thompson. She worked as a caregiver for many years at group homes in Preble County that included The Preble County Home, Cedar Springs and retired from Eaton Grand Manor. She loved to have her family near and was often seen working crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by son Donald Baker at age 4; and brothers and sisters Elizabeth Spicher, Mildred Carico, Loretta Seal, Sadie Stewart, John Stewart and Robert Stewart. She is survived by children Steve Baker of Eaton, Kimberly Baker of Eaton and Susan (John) Ritchie of Eaton; grandchildren Heather Flack of Eaton, Delena (Nate) Hammon of Eaton, Ashley Baker of Eaton, Amanda Baker of Conneaut, OH, Amber (Josh) Schaffer of Eaton, Brittany (Timothy) Shumaker of Lewisburg, Crystal Ritchie of Eaton, Steven (Leslie) Ritchie of Eldorado, Timothy Ritchie of Eaton, Jonathan Ritchie of Michigan, Bryan Ritchie of Michigan and Ashley Whisnant of Michigan; 31 great grandchildren; and Julia Jones of Eaton; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2012 at the Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35, West Alexandria, OH.
