John Hinton Utsinger Jr.

Utsinger, John Hinton Jr Age 77, of Eaton, Ohio passed away Friday, January 8, 2021. He was a graduate of West Alexandria High School in 1961 and received his BS in 1965 and his MA in 1967 from Miami University, Oxford, OH. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of The King Hiram Lodge #88. Retired, John spent the winters in Florida where he enjoyed daily walks in the sun, reading, playing bingo, and socializing. He was an avid reader and supporter of education; an intellectual who loved deep discussions; a firm believer in supporting civil rights causes; a free spirit who loved to travel far and wide and was always planning his next trip. He truly led a rich and fulfilling life. Preceded in death by his parents John Utsinger and Margaret Utsinger Riley, and his brother Jed Utsinger. He is survived by his sister, Jan T.; daughters, Nancy U. and Nicolette U.; sons, John U. III and Daniel U.; step daughter, Lauren H.; grandchildren, Sean R., Jaimie R., Sierra C., John U. IV, Natasha A., Nina A., Zoe U., Nikita A., and Abby U.; step grandchildren, Michael P., David C., Bristol H., and Brantley H.; five great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, January 18 at 1PM at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
