John M. Ott, 72, of Eaton, OH and formerly of New Jersey, passed away Saturday morning, June 29, 2013. Born in Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late John Melvin George Ott and Anne Agnes (Zadrosny) Ott. Mr. Ott spent most of his life in New Jersey, moving to Eaton 8 years ago. A graduate of Don Basko Prep School, he went on to attend the University of Dayton for several years. He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Mr. Ott retired from Dumont Public Schools in Dumont, NJ. Always working more than one job, he had also worked as a dispatcher for the Ramsey, NJ Police Department and a custodian for the Public Library in Ramsey. Survived by children Chris LeBecq & wife Patricia of South Carolina; Kevin Ott & wife Kelli of Eaton; and Lizabeth Hunter & husband Carlos of Richmond, IN: grandchildren Kaitlyn LeBecq, Austin Ott, Jennifer Selby, Brookelynn Selby, Maggie Ott, Lawrence Hunter, Quinten Hunter, Trevor Hunter and Preston Hunter: sister Anne Marie Ott of Pennsylvania: brother George Ott of Massachusetts: nephews and niece Mike Bayer & wife Michelle, Tim Bayer & wife Dorian, Bob Bayer & wife Jenny, and Kim Hull & husband Russ: great nieces and nephews: and special friend Suzanne Davis of Hackensack, NJ. A memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US RT. 35 - West Alexandria. Pastor Stan VanAusdal presiding.
