John L. Clark

John L. Clark, 80, of Eaton, OH went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday March 10, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born December 23, 1939 in Dayton, OH to the now late Benjamin and Cassandra Clark. He had worked 34 years for the US Postal Service as a carrier/manager. After retirement he worked at NAPA, Preble County Council on Aging and Walmart, where he was known as "Papa John". John enjoyed working on small engines, riding his motorcycle and scooter, spending time with his family and friends. In his younger years he enjoyed playing on the church softball teams. He enjoyed getting together with his classmates from Brookville High School, class of 1957. John was a veteran that served in the Air Force Reserve. He was an active member of the Eaton First Church of God for many years. John is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Shirley, daughter LeAnn (Scott) McDonald of Naperville, IL, son David (Julie) Clark of Cincinnati, OH, son Michael (Stephanie) Clark of Centerville, OH; stepchildren Lori Forrest of Cincinnati, OH and Mark (Jessica) Foster of Eaton, OH; grandchildren Lauren McDonald, Jason McDonald, Edward (Eddie) McDonald, Andrea (Annie) Clark, Joseph (Joey) Clark, Cameron Clark, Hayden Clark, Abigail (Abby) Clark, Lillian (Lilly) Clark, Haley Forrest, Kaitlyn Forrest, Connor Foster and Hadley Foster; sister Marjorie (David) Sebastian of Dayton, OH and mother-in-law Alberta Bartels of Eaton, OH; nieces and nephews and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Jim Clark and Don Clark, sister in law Esther Clark and nephews Deron Clark, Brandon Calicoat and Jon Sebastian. Friends may call on the family from 4:00PM - 7:00PM Friday March 13th, 2020. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 14, 2020 at 11:00AM with Pastor Jerry Reynolds presiding. All services to be held at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt 35 - West Alexandria. Burial Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
