Jewel C. Mcmurray

Jewel C. McMurray, 91, of West Alexandria, OH, passed away Friday morning, December 1, 2017. Born September 16, 1926 in Scott County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Grace McMurray. A longtime member of the Grace Brethren Community Church in Glenwood, she enjoyed flower gardening, swinging on her lawn swing, and camping and fishing. She enjoyed travel with family and made an annual trip in August to her family's reunion in Scott County. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Joe C. McMurray in 2006; daughter Carolyn McMurray as an infant; grandchildren Sarah Sparrow and Bobby Johnson; brothers and sisters Bill McMurray, Tom McMurray, Nelson McMurray, Lucille McMurray, Gary McMurray and Steve McMurray. Survived by children Phyllis Johnson & husband Bobby of West Alexandria; Larry McMurray and wife Elaine of West Alexandria, Kathy Hickman and husband Marvin of Eaton, and David McMurray and wife Cindy of Stout, OH; 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother Danny McMurray of Dayton. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Friends may call on the family from 2:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Burial Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
