Jesse Buckner

Jesse D. Buckner, age 91, formerly of West Manchester and Arcanum, OH, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 2, 2010. Born March 28, 1919 in TN, he was a son of the late Robert L. & Sarah B. (Bohannon) Buckner. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II and retired from Frigidaire in Dayton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Gladys O. (Huddleston) Buckner on January 2, 2005: grandsons Allen Tatar and Chuck Flayler: brothers and sisters Eddie, Dibrell, George, Dock, Cordell, Willie and Ada Buckner and Maggie Tays. Survived by daughters Saundra Lee Flaylor of Springboro, OH; Marsha Ditmer and Janice Hilt both of Arcanum: grandsons Ian Hilt of Dayton; Philip Hilt of Arcanum and Jason Ditmer of Ft. Lewis, WA: granddaughters Tonja Baker of Columbus, OH and Peggy Sue Via of Arcanum: great grandchildren Cole and Ambyr Baker, Wyatt and Riley Via, Tyler and Zachery Ditmer, Avery, Liam and Clara Hilt: and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Stephen Peters presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arcanum Community Grace Brethren Church Benevolent Fund.
