Jerome "Jerry" Melzer

Jerome E. Melzer, 71, of Eaton, OH, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011. Born in Cincinnati, he was the son of George H. & Norma L. (Nickoson) Melzer. Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Purcell High School in Cincinnati and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology from the University of Dayton, graduating in 1965. He retired on January 21, 2011 from CompuNet Clinical Laboratories after 22 years, having worked at Miami Valley Hospital. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wives Nancianne (Simons) Melzer in 1980 and Susan G. (Crowell) Melzer in 2004. Survived by children Marcus Melzer of Dayton; Beth Gibboney & husband James of New Madison, OH; and Jennifer Koehl of Gaithersburg,MD: grandchildren J.R. and Lucas Melzer; Sydney and Adam Miller; and Owen and Taylor Koehl: sister Marlene (John) Garrison of Mason, OH. The family wishes to extend their thanks to State of the Heart Hospice and Dr. Calvo & the Staff of the Dayton Cancer Center.
