Jeannette L. Secrest

Jeannette L. Secrest, 91, of Dayton, OH and formerly of West Alexandria, OH, passed away early Friday morning August 19, 2016. Born August 6, 1925 in Loveland, OH, she was a daughter of the late David & Helen (Boyce) Martin. Jeannette's family meant everything to her. She loved spending time with her girls, taking long car rides, walking the mall, talking and cooking; she loved being with her grandchildren and their families. She was loved and adored by all who met her. When she was able, Jeannette had been an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Eaton. Earlier in life she worked cleaning houses in Preble County. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years James Arthur Secrest in February of 1994: daughter Patricia Swartz in December of 1982: son David Secrest in January of 2010: son-in-law Christopher Cain, Sr. in 2000: great grandson Bryce Shaffer: and sisters Juanita Lewis and Betty Ernst. Left to carry on her legacy is her family; daughters Betty R. Michaels of Dayton, Susan K. Johnson of Camden, and Cathy Bell of Troy 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call on the family from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
