Janet Margaret (Slater) Ward

August 5, 1943 — February 2, 2024

Janet Ward, 80, of Eaton, Ohio passed away Friday, February 2nd, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton due to
lymphoma. Janet was born in Jackson County, OH to the late Oral and Pauline Slater. She was a
devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and Diet Coke. Janet was a
member of the Farmersville United Methodist Church for the last 20 years.


Jan & Barry were transferred numerous times, living in Maryland, Ohio, Oklahoma, New York, and
Georgia. Jan held positions in many banks and credit unions over the years. She is survived by her
husband of 60 years, Barry Ward of Eaton, OH; daughter Shelly Tebbe (Bryan) of West Alexandria, OH;
granddaughter Erin Tebbe of Crawfordsville, IN; and brother Thomas Slater (Joyce) of Newark, OH. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Ronna Dale Ward.


A Celebration of Life will be held at the Farmersville United Methodist Church, Farmersville, Ohio on
February 18th, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Farmersville United
Methodist Church, 110 W. Center St., Farmersville, OH 45325 or Hospice of Dayton
