James Richard Isaacs, 71, of Lewisburg, Ohio, passed away on August 12, 2023. He was born on December 11, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio. He was raised in Farmersville and Brookville. James, known by his preferred name Jim, was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
In his younger years, Jim had a passion for playing guitar, particularly bluegrass music. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed taking walks and collecting interesting rocks, including arrowheads. Later in life, he discovered metal detecting and gold panning, finding great pleasure in these activities. Fishing was another beloved pastime of Jim's, spending countless hours on lakes and creeks, patiently waiting for a bite. He shared his passions with his grandchildren, teaching them everything he knew. Jim's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linda Isaacs, his daughters Renee Colaj and Ariel Smith, and his grandchildren Santiago Colaj, Rosalinda Colaj, Marisol Colaj, Amadeus Smith, Darius Smith, and Aurelius Smith. He is also survived by his brother Dewain Shiverdecker.
He was preceded in death by his father Lester Isaacs, step-father Gene Shiverdecker, mother Dorothy Shiverdecker, brothers Calvin and Edward Shiverdecker, and sisters Beverly Isaacs, and Junia Lewis.
In honor of Jim's wishes, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to help offset the cost of medical bills. Contributions can be made to the designated fund by contacting the family directly.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Isaacs family during this difficult time. May the memories of Jim bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his loss.
