James D. Holster, 83, of Lewisburg, OH, passed away Wednesday night, November 14, 2018 following a lengthy illness. Born March 11, 1935 in Yokum, TX, he was the son of the late James H. and Evelyn Pearl (Styles) Holster. Since 1969, he worked as a hog and cattle farmer in Harrison Township outside of Lewisburg. For 16 years, he and his wife were the owner operators of the Windy Hill Carryout at the corner of Rt. 40 and Jordan Rd. At the same time, he also worked as a distributor for Charles Chips in both Preble and Montgomery Counties. An avid bowler for over 50 years he enjoyed league play with the Friday Night League at Thunderbowl in Englewood and also enjoyed bowling at Timber Lanes in Clayton. Survived by his wife of 65 years Judith A. (Smith) Holster, whom he married August 7, 1953; son and daughter-in-law Jaime D. and Janey Holster of Lewisburg; daughters Rebecca S. Coleman of Clyo, GA and Tara L. Holster of Goose Creek, SC; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Friends may call on the family from12:00 - 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor David Justis presiding; followed by burial at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
