James D. Hamblin

James D. Hamblin, age 92 of West Alexandria, OH passed away at his home, October 18, 2016. Born December 17, 1923 he was a son to the late Rachel (Powers) and Jerry Hamblin, Sr. James was a proud United States Air Force veteran having served during WWII. He retired from General Motors (Delco Moraine). He was a member of the VFW post # 7596 in Franklin, Ohio and enjoyed playing the banjo; bluegrass music; gardening and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Bertha "Edith" Hamblin in May 2016: brothers Glen Hamblin ; Raymond Hamblin and Delbert Hamblin. Survived by daughters Sharon Norton (Ken) of Greenville, OH; Loretta Arvai (Ed) of Tipp City, OH; Velma Jones ( Dan) of Marysville, OH: grandchildren Kelly Melnick (Bruce) of Dayton, OH; Todd Norton (Beth) of Wilmington,OH; Mindy Menker (Bill) of Brookville, OH; Matthew Irwin of Kettering, OH; Amy Dallaire (Joel) of Vandalia, OH; Alan Jones of Myrtle Beach, SC: 9 great-grandchildren: brothers Carl Hamblin ( Sue) of West Alexandria, OH; Jerry Hamblin, Jr. (Junella) of Williamsburg, KY: as well as many more friends and family members.
